Inspection & fault finding
We assess the cylinder, visible damage, wear, leakage and the reported machine problem before deciding the repair route.
HYDRAULIC CYLINDER REPAIRS
Inspection, strip-down, resealing, component repair, refurbishment and hydraulic cylinder rebuilds from our Keighley workshop.
CYLINDER REPAIR SERVICE
A leaking, damaged or under-performing hydraulic cylinder does not always need replacing. We inspect the cylinder, identify what has failed and work out the practical repair route.
Depending on the condition, that can mean replacing seals, repairing or replacing damaged components, dealing with worn rods or tubes, carrying out machining work, or rebuilding the cylinder ready for service.

WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH
We can assess the cylinder and recommend the appropriate repair or engineering route rather than assuming a replacement is required.
We assess the cylinder, visible damage, wear, leakage and the reported machine problem before deciding the repair route.
We strip, inspect and replace seals and wear components where appropriate, then rebuild the cylinder.
We can repair or replace damaged rods, glands, pistons, tubes, ports and associated components where practical.
Return worn or failed cylinders to service through a practical combination of repair, machining and new components.
OUR APPROACH
It all starts with a conversation, followed by an inspection to determine the condition of the cylinder. Where possible, we'll keep the repair practical and avoid unnecessary cost.
We establish the symptoms, application and what has happened to the cylinder before deciding what needs checking.
We strip and assess the cylinder for seal failure, wear, damage and the condition of the main components.
Depending on what we find, the repair may involve resealing, component replacement, machining or other engineering work.
The cylinder is rebuilt and checked as appropriate before collection or return to service.
MORE THAN JUST A SEAL REPLACEMENT
A simple leak may only need a reseal. An inspection can also reveal wear or damage elsewhere, so we check the components that matter before deciding what should be reused, repaired or replaced.
Worn seals can cause leakage, but replacing them is only part of the assessment when other components are showing signs of wear.
We look for scoring, pitting, bending and other damage that could affect sealing and cylinder performance.
The tube is checked for internal wear or damage that could affect the rebuilt cylinder.
Mounting and articulation points can also need attention where wear or damage is found.
Key internal and external components are assessed as part of the overall repair route.
Where practical, machining or other engineering work can form part of the refurbishment rather than replacing the complete cylinder.
COMMON APPLICATIONS
We can work on hydraulic cylinders used across a range of machinery and engineering applications. If you're unsure whether your cylinder is something we can help with, contact us and we'll discuss it.
WHAT TO BRING
Where possible, bring the cylinder itself or send:
CYLINDER REPAIR FAQ
Yes. Leakage can be caused by seal failure, damaged components or other issues. We inspect the cylinder before deciding the appropriate repair.
No. Depending on its condition, a cylinder may be suitable for resealing, component repair, machining or refurbishment.
Photographs and useful measurements can help us understand the problem and advise what information or parts may be needed. A physical inspection is normally required before confirming the repair.
Yes. Tell us what the machine is doing, what has changed and what you can see. We can help establish the practical next step.
CYLINDER NEEDS ATTENTION?
Send photographs, measurements or a drawing, or bring the cylinder to our Keighley workshop. We'll inspect it and help work out the practical repair route.
